The New Search Landscape

Search has been rewritten. AI gives answers, not links.

When someone asks an AI engine for a recommendation, it names 3–5 brands, not ten blue links.

Mentioned
Does AI name you when buyers ask? Mentioned is being known.
Cited
Does AI link to your site as a source? Cited is being trusted.
Compared
Which competitors AI names instead of you, and on which questions.
Fixed
What to change on your site and channels so AI names you more often.
What we measure

One score you can trust

The AI Readiness Score answers two questions: does AI talk about you, and can AI read your site?

  • 85% Brand Visibility. Mention: does AI name you in the answer? Share of voice: how prominently, compared with competitors? Citations: does AI link to your site as a source?
  • 15% Technical Readiness. Can AI crawlers reach and read your pages?
StarRise AI readiness overview for a demo brand: an AI Readiness Score of 51 out of 100, split into Brand Visibility 51 and Technical Readiness 50, with the brand named in 92% of answers, cited in 50%, and ranked second of six tracked brands.

Beyond the score

Why you win or lose

The score tells you where you stand. These tell you why.

Direct Perception

How each engine describes you, in its own words: strengths, weaknesses and the terms it attaches to your name.

Sentiment & Threat

How positively AI talks about you, and which competitors threaten your position most.

Content Quality

Your pages scored on what AI engines reward: statistics, expert quotes, cited sources and answers they can lift.

Content Coverage

Which buyer questions you have pages for, stage by stage, and which ones you hand to competitors.

Citation Authority

The sources AI trusts in your category, and the exact pages where competitors are cited instead of you.

Social signals

How your LinkedIn and other channels compare with competitors', because AI engines cite social too.

Why the number holds up

Measured the way your buyers see it

AI answers change from one ask to the next. A single check is a guess. StarRise is built to give you a number you can take to your leadership team.

3× per engine

Asked three times, not once

On paid plans, every question goes to each AI engine three times, so one odd answer can't swing your score.

What buyers see

Checked in the real app

We check the answers buyers actually see in the ChatGPT app, not only what the developer API returns. The two don't always agree.

Verified

Only verified citations count

A citation counts only when the engine really links to your domain. Nothing inflates the headline.

On the record

Every raw answer, inspectable

Prompt Explorer shows what each engine said, question by question, run by run. Nothing is a black box.

If we can't stand behind a number, we don't show it.

White-glove GEO / AEO

We don't just show the gaps. We close them.

Once StarRise finds the gaps, our GEO and AEO team can execute the fixes for you, then measure the result on the same dashboard.

  • Website content: quality and coverage of the questions buyers ask
  • Technical foundations: crawler access, schema and sitemaps
  • Entity signals that define your brand to AI engines
  • Authority from sources AI engines trust
  • Citations on the pages AI engines rely on
  • Continuous optimization, measured run over run
FAQ

Questions buyers ask us

How long until a change shows up in AI answers?

There are two speeds. Fixes on your own site, like letting AI crawlers in or adding real numbers to a page, show up as the engines re-read your site, typically within a few weeks. Being cited more widely, on Reddit or in other people's articles, builds over a couple of months. Re-run on the same questions and engines to see each step.

Isn't this just SEO with a new name?

The skills transfer; the scoreboard doesn't. Google ranks pages by links. AI engines write an answer and name three to five businesses, citing pages they trust. Your rank tracker can't tell you whether you're in that answer, or who is instead. StarRise measures that, and the fixes it prescribes are content and technical work your team already knows.

What does "projected lift" mean? Is it a promise?

It's a conservative estimate. We measure how far you are behind competitors on each factor the engines reward, weight it by published research and by how much room you have to improve. After you make the changes, you re-run and see the measured number. Projected is the plan. Measured is the proof.

How do you handle AI answers changing every time?

On paid plans, we ask each question three times per engine, so one odd answer can't swing your score. Every run uses the same questions and engines, so each one compares fairly with the last.

Do you measure what real users see?

Yes. On paid plans, alongside the official APIs, we check the answers buyers actually see in the ChatGPT app and in Google's AI Overviews. The consumer app and the API don't always give the same answer, so we measure both.

Which AI engines do you track?

ChatGPT on every plan. Starter adds Gemini, Perplexity and Google AI Overviews. Pro can add Claude; White Glove includes it. See pricing.

Do I have to be technical?

No. The plan tells you what to fix in plain words, ranked by value and effort. Your web person handles the technical items in an hour or two. Content items you can write yourself, hand to your agency, or start from a StarRise draft.
